Base Jumping“A first skydive in 1992 led Jason Bell to a love of jumping from very high places.

“I was hooked,” the 38 year-old West Virginia native said. “I’m one of those people who always wanted to skydive. If I say I’m going to do it, I do it.”

Bell will be one of several hundred jumpers who will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Bridge Day by BASE jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, W.Va., on Oct. 17 and parachuting to the ground below.

Bridge Day is the one day each year that jumping from the 876-foot-high bridge is legal.”
