Name: Dominic Northcott
Place of Birth: Plymouth, Devon
Now Lives: Southampton, Hampshire
When I’m not having a SFDO, I will be found earning pennies as: Subject Administrator for all the Sport courses at the University of Winchester, working on www.superfundaysout.com, or at home.
Sum up a ‘Super Fun Day Out’ in 10 words: New, Exciting, Extreme, Heart-Pumping, Fast, Fun, Challenging, Scary, Adrenalin.
The most ‘Super Fun Day Out’ you’ve ever had:
Skiing for the first time in Austria when I was about 14. Pure blue
skies, great snow and being away from the parents made for a great time.
Earliest Memory of a SFDO: I must have been about
10 or 11 attempting the death slide at Flambards on a school trip.
Looking back it was not that scary but when I was younger, scariest
thing I had done and the buzz when you got to the bottom, awesome.
Craziest Sport You’ve Ever Tried: AK-47 Shooting in
Poland, and being told by our driver, if you want to kill someone, use
a silencer. No wonder I missed every target.
Next adrenalin activity you plan on trying: Hopefully Windsurfing and Scuba in Cuba next April, but as it is my honeymoon, we will wait and see.
Highest Height (excluding regular flights): Not sure, how high is a skiing mountain range.
Deepest Depth: Bottom of my bath.
Longest Distance: Did some hiking when I was younger, not sure how much I walked, probably about 10 miles or so.
Favourite Extreme Sport: Anything involving Snow, so skiing and snowboarding.
Wackiest Sport You’ve Ever Heard of: Bog snorkeling.
Why you are involved in SFDO: Because I was forced
to by the managing director. Only joking Yaz. Wanted to be part of
something new, something I believed in, and all being well part of
something that will succeed beyond my wildest recognition.
Sum up your ideal day: ‘Love Life… Live It’: Sunrise First
you have to be with either friends or family. Wake up in a log cabin;
snow has fallen the night before. Perfect conditions to go out on the
ski slope for some fun. Ski all day, and in the evening out for some
après-ski.
How I like to challenge myself: Trying new things, would rather regret something I have done, rather than thinking what if I had tried that.
Extreme Sports Film: Point Break.
Adrenalin sports I have tried include: Abseiling,
Assault Course, Hiking, Surfing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Go-Karting, Quad
Biking, Camping Sea Swimming, Paintballing, Laser Quest, Golf, Horse
Riding, AK47 Shooting, Pistol Shooting, Water Fun Park, Rock Climbing
and Mountain Biking.
